“Arise….arise….arise…arise….”
The Don Moen song was going through my head as I awoke early this morning. I lay there under my five blankets, cozy and comfy under their heaviness, hoping I’d fall back to sleep. Didn’t happen. Instead my mind started considering an issue I’m currently facing. Nothing huge. Just a minor speed-bump. I believe it’s a case of miscommunication. Easily remedied with a little face-to-face time, and, of course, prayer.
Once I realized that more Zzzs were not in the game plan for my early morning, I decided to get up and have some quiet time with the Lord. My fingertips found several verses that spoke His Truths to me regarding the current speed-bump. One that tugged at my heart was when God the Father says in Matthew 17:5: “This is my dearly loved Son who brings me great joy. Listen to Him.” That made me wonder, “Well, what did Jesus say?” And low and behold, two verses later I read what Jesus said (and is saying): “Get up. Don’t be afraid.”
Jesus is telling us to get up. Don’t stay down. Get up! And when you do so, do it unafraid. No fear. No doubt. Just get up again and again and again. No matter how many times it takes, get up. Be the beautiful son or daughter He created you to be. If you make a mistake, get up. If you find yourself believing lies of the Enemy (i.e., “I can’t sing”, “I can’t paint”, “I’ll never be happy in this marriage”, “I can’t talk in front of large crowds”, etc.), then stop allowing yourself to stay down. “Get up and don’t be afraid”. Turn to Jesus for help in all situations. For with Him all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). He is our strength when we are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9).
I’m feeling a little inspiration floating around in my head. Let’s see…..
No more fear; no more doubt.
That’s what His Love is all about.
Cling to Jesus and you’ll be free.
Just say, “More of You and less of me”.
Seek the Lord and know His mercy and love.
Seek the Lord. Be blessed from above.

Isn’t it a good thing God doesn’t give up on us. He will keep telling us the same message until we get it. Then we smack ourselves in the head as if we were in a V-8 commercial. Duh. Now I get it.
