It’s important to be flexible. To roll with punches. To go with the flow.
I have a friend who prefers to be in control of things. To analyze all variables. To dig deep for the best possible solution. And then, to implement that finding. If everything falls into place, the day is good. If the road doesn’t open the way it should have, then frustration and anger rear their ugly heads.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life is that it’s good to have a plan, but also very important…maybe even more important…to be flexible when things don’t go the way you’d anticipated. To maintain hope and to be open to new options. Sometimes that unforeseen situation ends up being the best scenario that could have occurred.
Sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we are forced to stretch beyond our comfort zone. I guess that is where we decide to stay rigid and grumble…or we open our arms and stretch….and grow.
