Seasons of Facebook

A novelty. Everyone’s doing it.
Catching up with “besties” from high school.
Friend Requested. Friend Accepted.
Time slipping by–seconds, in reality, hours.
Post, post, post, post. LOL. Post.
Hourly check-ins. Minute-to-minute updates.
Can’t get enough of Facebook.
So great to catch up with friends. Family.

A-nnoying. Taking a break.
No posts. No pictures. No updates.
The incessant need to log-on…gone.
Days…weeks…a month passes.
And then…
“Maybe just once.” 
“It can’t hurt.  Just once to
check in on my friends.”
Logged in.
Sucked in…again.

A tool. Random exposure.
Only when there’s time.
Not a necessity anymore.
Freedom to face Facebook
at my leisure.  Post. Post.
